After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) transfers to a rural hospital for a fresh start. Dr. Harrison (actor and actress Michael Potts) suggests that James is struggling and has a hard time connecting with his patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is brought on the case of a young asthmatic (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES SOMETIMES) who is experiencing mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson assembles a strong cast of veteran actors as he follows SAINT FRANCES – and its predecessor GHOSTLIGHT – in this humanistic and unconventional genre revision.
